Yesterday I had the honor of being nominated for a Liebster award by:

Mended Musings

She has been such an active encourager to me on my blog and her posts are always relevant and on the pulse of exactly what is going on in my life and spiritual/recovery journey. Her writing is real an honest and it’s as if she’s sitting right next to you having a conversation. I was truly humbled that she thought to give my blog a shout out.

The Liebster Award highlights blogs that have less than 200 followers (give or take) as a way to recognize new and upcoming blogs. Accepting and paying forward these awards is a great way to expose people to new blogs and give a little recognition to blogs that you like. The 11 blogs I nominated have inspired me to be a better writer and I look forward to checking in to see what they’re up to.

(Forgive me in advance if need be…Some of the blogs I’ve nominated might have well beyond 200 followers already, I couldn’t tell on a few of them. If that is you, please don’t be offended! I think you’re fabulous!)

After being nominated, each nominee must:
Acknowledge the nominating blogger
Share 11 random facts about yourself
Answer the 11 questions the blogger that nominated you has created for you.
Nominate 11 new bloggers.
Post 11 questions for your nominees to answer.
Let all the bloggers know that they have been nominated; but you cannot nominate the blogger that nominated you.

10 bloggers I have nominated:

Nature Restores me

The Top Banana | Where poetry and Lego collide

Oh Dear, Watch The Headlights!

Wide Open Ground | travel, missions, faith

Rays : Drops of Golden’s Sun

Get up. Dress up. Turn up

Holli Long | Joy is the Grace

Skulls and Makeup

11 Random facts about me:

1.) I’m obsessed with Disneyland and Disney stuff. It’s a little intense.

2.) I play guitar and sing. Mostly church/worship songs.

3.) I attended the home birth of a dear friend recently. It was an education for sure.

4.) I would be perfectly content sitting for hours in the driveway listening to very loud music and singing in my car, especially with any of my siblings.

5.) I am very close, almost inappropriately close to my siblings. I’m the oldest of 7!

6.) My favorite smell in the world is my husbands breath. It hardly ever stinks. I love it. Is that weird?

7.) Despite how hard I try, I am late to everything.

8.) I love, love, love coffee. I have a special Tupperware bin for my espresso machine to pack it up and take it on vacation.

9.) It is almost impossible for me to conceal my feelings. I wear my heart on my sleeve and my annoyance in my facial expressions. It has caused me social problems.

10.) My most favorite thing to do in all the world is laugh! Is there anything better that a good laugh?

11.) I care too much about others opinions of me.

Questions I had to answer:

Are you a blogger who replies to comments or who doesn’t?

I reply to every comment which for now is pretty easy because I don’t get that many. When I hear the WordPress ding, it feels like Christmas morning

What did you have for dinner last night?

Breakfast burritos

What did you want to be when you grew up when you were a kid?

I wanted to be a Disney animator.

What’s your favorite TV show?

I love them all! Walking Dead, Dexter, Game of Thrones ( our dog is named Khalisi).

What is the one food you can’t resist?

Nachos with lots of fresh guacamole

What, if any, video games do you play?

At all really, but when I play the Michael Jackson wii game I KILL IT on Thriller

Why do you blog about what you blog about?

I blog because writing is something I feel compelled to do to maintain my mental health. I blog about my life, my faith in God, my family, my pursuit of meaningful makeover, while trying to learn to love myself and overcome my struggles with food addiction.

What is your favorite book?

That is such a hard question. Books are dear in different seasons for different reasons. It would be impossible to pick.

Do you watch the news? Why or why not?

Not really. I pay attention to local news. I used to obsess over the news until I realized it’s all just theater. Now I save my heartburn and worry for things that I can actually do something

Do you believe in coincidences or do you think there’s a reason for why things happen?

Yes, I believe there is meaning an a reason behind all that happens to us.

What did you think of Miley’s performance on the VMAs?

These questions were so fun ill ask the same ones!!!
Now go have some fun and nominate other fantastic blogs!

Thank you so much Mandimon! I really appreciate being nominated. And I also appreciate your blog. The honesty is so refreshing. You deserve the nomination. It has motivated me to get real with myself about my own food addiction, which is something I wish to change about myself. it’s not easy. But your blog is very inspiring, and I admire you for saying it like it is! Thank you for helping me to realize I’m not alone.
